Fishing Gear
Wooden Fishing Rod
The Wooden Fishing Rod is what enables you to fish in Len’s Island. You can purchase the fishing rod from Kevin the Fisherman on the starting island immediately a the start of the game for:
Tackle Vest
Later in the game you can enhance your fishing experience by purchasing the Tackle Vest from Kevin the Fisherman which allows you to see fishing locations on your mini map. Combining this with the Fly Fishin Hat increases the range in which fishing locations show up on your map.

You will also be able to purchase the Fly Fishin Hat from Kevin which also allows you to see fishing locations on your mini map. Combining this with the Tackle Vest increases the range in which fishing locations show up on your map.
Len’s Island – Guide to Every Fish
There are a total 6 types of fish in Len’s Island which can be found in 3 distinct bodies of water. The Bluegill and Rainbow Trout can be fished for in any body of freshwater where they can be seen circling. Alternatively, the Swordfish, Sardine, and Fugu are all found circling in ocean bodies of water. Lastly, the Angler Fish can only be found in bodies of water in the cave systems below the islands.
All fish can be sold at Kevin the Fisherman’s shop for gold, eaten raw for a specified hunger boost or cooked and eaten for a health and hunger boost.

Len’s Island Guide to Fishing Mechanics
You cannot fish in any random body of water. First you want to find a body of water with a circle visual representing the movement of fish.
Equip the Wooden Fishing Pole and click on the circled fishing spot in the water to cast your rod.
Periodically a white circle will appear on your screen. When you see the white circle click on your controller or mouse. From time to time you may see a red circle. Do not click when you see the red circles of you will fail your cast. Eventually after successfully hitting the white circles correctly you will catch the fish.
Keep in mind, more rarer fish such as the Swordfish or Angler Fish will be more challenging to catch.

The two best recipes in the game are two fish recipes. Cook these before completing difficult dungeons to gain big benefits both to your health and hunger levels.
